Preliminary site designs for Keswick's proposed Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) clearly illustrate that a high level of architectural sensitivity and environmental respect has been devoted to upholding the integrity, scale and aesthetics of the surrounding Roland Park residential community.
In the same style of the original plan developed for Plat 2 of Roland Park by Frederick Law Olmstead, Jr., the proposed design follows the natural contours of the land, preserving and heightening the picturesque succession of hill and valley, open space and forest.
By integrating such architectural elements as turrets, dormers, porches, stone and brick, the design is very consistent with the charm and character of one of Maryland’s first planned communities.
Of the seventeen acres that comprise the parcel, seven acres will remain untouched open green space, five acres will be landscaped gardens, and five acres will be developed on the parcel of land formerly occupied by the Baltimore Country Club tennis courts.
