Founded in 1883, Keswick Multi-Care Center is an independent, nonprofit long-term care facility with an established tradition of high-quality, compassionate care. For 125 years, Keswick has cared for thousands of Baltimoreans suffering from chronic illnesses and/or the complications of aging, earning wide recognition for our innovative therapies, advanced technologies and excellent physicians and specialists.

Our broad continuum of care includes adult day services, an assisted living facility for people with memory loss, a 68-bed transitional care unit and a skilled nursing care center.

A strong history of community care…

1883

The Baltimore Home for the Incurables (later renamed Keswick Multi-Care Center) is chartered by the Maryland General Assembly.

1887

Keswick moves from East Fayette Street to Guilford Avenue, where it will remain for the next 40 years.

1921

A training school for Licensed Practical Nurses opens at Keswick.

1926

Keswick moves to its current location at West 40th Street and Cedar Avenue in the Roland Park community of Baltimore.

1929

The Carey Wing is added, bringing patient capacity to 100.

1953

Appointment of first full-time executive director.

1965

Appointment of first full-time medical director.

1987

Keswick launches adult day services.

2003

Keswick partners with Johns Hopkins Medicine to establish an onsite geriatric medicine office staffed by nationally recognized senior health experts.

2007

Keswick establishes a home care division, Keswick at Home.

2007

Keswick Memory Care opens, providing assisted living to people with dementia.

2007

Establishes Keswick Management LLC and enters into an agreement to provide facility management, home health care and nursing services to the residents of Brightwood independent retirement community.

2008

Keswick announces plans for a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Baltimore.
